The figures represent various roles, including pilots, sailors, and other service members, some standing and others seated, one in a wheelchair. Frequently asked questions

What is GovSavvy?

GovSavvy is an online platform that connects U.S. veterans (Active, Guard, Reserve, and civilian alumni) with mission-driven federal agencies and contractors—helping you translate military experience into federal careers.

Who can use GovSavvy?
  • Veterans & Service Members: Anyone who has served (or is serving) in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Space Force.

  • Federal Employers & Contractors: Agencies and vetted small-business primes/subs seeking clearance-ready, mission-focused talent.

How does GovSavvy match me with employers?
  1. You complete a profile: branch, rank, MOS/AFSC (or civilian background), DD214, certifications, and any clearance details.

  2. Our AI suggests roles that align with your skills and goals.

  3. Employers review your verified profile, you choose who to interview, and GovSavvy helps schedule interviews—often within days, not weeks.

Do I need a security clearance to join?

No. You can create a profile without a clearance. If you have one (Secret, TS, SCI), upload it so employers see your status immediately. If not, GovSavvy provides guidance on pursuing or transferring a clearance.

How much does GovSavvy cost for veterans?

GovSavvy is 100% free for veterans. We only collect a small placement fee from employers after a successful hire.

What support resources does GovSavvy offer?
  • One-on-One Advising: Personalized help with resumes, cover letters, and clearance questions.

  • Branch-Specific Templates: MOS/AFSC → GS translators and federal resume samples.

  • Interview Prep Webinars: On-demand videos covering USAJOBS tips, panel interviews, and clearance FAQs.

  • Veteran Community Network: A private Slack/Teams channel for peer support, mentorship, and ongoing career advice.
